A Father Friendly Provider Network Training

This training will explore parental and childhood trauma from a neuro-physiological perspective. Participants will learn how to help fathers identify the triggers that lead to stress in their children, “verbal first aid” calming techniques, and how fathers can model regulatory coping skills. Participants will also learn about the risks of normalizing certain behaviors in traumatized children and how a calming, regulated home environment can facilitate healing in the family.

3 Continuing Education Units are avaialble for a fee for RNs, LMFTs, LCSWs, LEPs, LPCCs.

A complimentary lunch will be provided.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Participants will be able to:

  • Explain the impact of trauma on brain development

  • Identify personal stress levels

  • Apply techniques for self-regulation

  • List 2 “verbal first aid” strategies that support children who have experienced trauma

Who should attend a Father Friendly Provider Network Training (FFPN)?

The Father Friendly Provider Network is a co-ed learning community made up of staff from diverse disciplines serving children 0-5 and their families who are committed to providing services that are father friendly.

No cost to attend the training. The cost for Continuing Education Units is $15.
